The 5 Elements of a Perfect Golf Swing
If you are looking to improve your golf game and lower your
score, the main thing you should be focusing on is improving
your swing. Don't worry about buying new clubs or anything
like that until you have mastered the basic fundamentals of
the golf swing. There are 5 elements of a perfect golf swing
that every golfer should work on.
The first is the grip. Hold the club in a grip that is
comfortable for you, with your hands facing in towards one
another. Make sure you are using the exact same grip every
time you swing, or else you will have inconsistent results
on the course.
The next element of your swing is your stance. Just like the
grip, make sure you are standing in a way that is
comfortable for you, and be sure to stand that way for every
swing if you want to maintain consistently low scores.
Next is the backswing, or the part of the swing where you
lift the club back and prepare to hit the ball. Many golfers
make the mistake of having too much backswing, as though
they are trying to whack the ball as hard as they can in
order to get the most distance. You should instead focus
more on accuracy and precision, rather than distance.
After that we have the downswing, where you actually hit the
ball. Make sure that your body is not twisting and turning
too much or too little, or you will not hit the ball
straight.
Finally, there is the follow through. When you hit the ball,
be sure not to twist the club or you could cause a hook or
slice. Many golfers find that they have a chronic slice
which is actually caused by improper follow through.
If you're struggling with your golf game, I completely
understand how you feel!
It can be so frustrating watching ball after ball kick up
sand as they land in the trap or make that familiar *splash*
as they fall into the pond.
There are a lot of products online claiming to be able to
help you improve your game. I've bought a whole bunch, and
most of them SUCK!
I don't want to see golfers like you being suckered into
wasting money on products that don't deliver on their
promises (like I was!)
That's why I've hand picked and reviewed the 3 golf products
that helped me improve my game more than any others, and I
know they can do the same thing for you!

simply don't work.

Golf Chipping Game
In golf each and every shot is equally important whether you
are driving, chipping or putting. If any one of these goes
wrong then it can affect your score badly. I have seen as a
general trend among the golfers that they spend more time to
improve their driving skills. Because of that they posses
good solid driving skills yet they have not been able to
perform well in the game. Some of them remain confused where
their efforts are lacking?
Well, the answer of the question can be problem in your golf
chipping game.
If you are one of them then you need to take your short game
very seriously. Golf chipping game is totally different from
driving. In driving you need to get the maximum distance but
in chipping the main factor remains accuracy. Generally an
amateur golfer hits the chip shot either fat or thin. They
can't able to make out how much air and how much rolling is
required to get a perfect chip shot.
There are some of the factors that must be taken into
account before going for a chip shot. These are as follows:
The Lie - The lie is the position of the golf ball after the
tee shot. The good lies are the areas like fairway and the
green while bad lies include the areas like bunkers, pine
straw and the rough. The uphill and downhill lies are
considered as tough lies.
The Club Selection - The selection of club is very important
in the chip shot. If you require more distance in your shot
then you can opt to choose long iron clubs like 3 to 1 iron.
Mid iron clubs like 5 to 7 are available for lesser
distance. If you want more loft and accuracy in your shot
then choose the short irons like 8 and 9 irons. Sand and
pitching wedges also comes under the category of short
irons.
Well, generally it is the combination of both of these
factors that contribute to a good chip shot. The key area of
concentration of chipping game is accuracy which comes when
you will be able to roll the ball as much as possible.
You also need to prepare yourself for uphill and downhill
lies. The point of concern in these lies is the controlling
of body weight during the swing. The point to remember here
is uphill lie add loft while the downhill lie reduce the
loft of the club. In order to improve your golf chipping
game start practicing your short game with the variety of
golf clubs.

Purchase Golf Bags For You
As you have made the decision to play golf this spring, you
are wondering what type of golf bag that you will need for
the new golf season. If you have just started playing golf
or have been playing for awhile you will need to consider
what the options are as the bags come in a variety of types.
Manufacturers make various types of golf bags include carry
bags, cart bags and travel bags.
You will be in the market for new stand golf bags or a carry
golf bags if you intend to walk the golf course when you
play. Many players do this for fitness purposes or because
and some others do it for the enjoyment of feeling like one
with nature. Stand bags or carry bags are lightweight so
that they are easily carried and are often made of
lightweight material such as nylon. These bags are typically
the smallest in size. However, they have ample room for your
entire set of golf clubs and accessories that you will need
to enjoy your round of golf. These golf bags are referred to
as stand bags because when it is time to put the bag down to
play your shot you can use a specially designed stand to
keep the bag off the ground and upright.
As it sounds, cart golf bags are designed to be placed on
the back of an electric or gas golf cart or a three wheeled
push cart. For the average golfer, a cart bag is simply too
big and heavy to carry. Cart bags are typically made of
heavier materials such as leather and are larger by
construction. This makes them very difficult to carry for
most golfers to carry for most amateurs. Some cart bags do
not even provide a shoulder strap as they are expected to
sit on the back of a golf cart. With that being said, many
golf cart bags have a strap that will allow you to carry
them. Hopefully, this will only be around the clubhouse!
You may also want to think about how much golf you are going
to play when you are traveling and purchasing a golf travel
bag. A travel golf bags provide protection for your clubs
while you travel whether on a plane or in a car. If you
think that you will travel mainly by car then a soft golf
travel bag would most likely be the best choice for you.
They are lightweight and compact. Alternatively for those
who travel by plane, a hard travel would be the ideal
choice.
Before making a decision on purchasing between stand golf
bags, cart golf bags as well as if you will need a golf
travel cover, there are a few choices that you need to make.
Once these choices are made, you can then select a golf bag
that will meet your needs and help you to enjoy the game of
golf. I have found that the more that you enjoy the game,
typically the better that you will play.

Golf Clubs – What You Should Know About the Difference
Between 3-Wood and 4-Wood and Beyond
The 3-2wood is a much more versatile club than the 2-wood,
and its 15 degree loft allows a player to use it if the ball
is lying in a good position on the fairway. This club is the
one with which you really do need to make friends.
Most players find that they have far greater accuracy with
it than the driver and the loss of 15-20 yards or 14-18
meters is, for the lost part, inconsequential if you are on
the fairway eight times out of ten instead of just two or
three.
Armed with this sort of philosophy, the Australian Peter
Thomson once won the Open at Royal Birkdale without ever
taking the driver out of his bag.
The 4-wood is an even more friendly piece of equipment but
its 18-degree loft means you start to lose distance. It is
ideal, though, for tee shots to narrow fairways, or fairway
blows where the lie is none too favorable.
You will even be able to use it in some instances in the
rough. Many players, even some pros, have realized that
modern 5-, 7- and 9-woods are easier to hit from a variety
of lies than their equivalent iron clubs.
For the less athletic player, the sweeping stroke used to
hit these clubs is easier and more comfortable for them than
the powerful, crisp striking needed for the longer irons.
There are also new generations of rescue clubs, a sort of
hybrid between irons and woods which cover all sorts of shot
making, from long fairway shots to clipping.
Modern metal woods are much easier to hit for the average
player than old persimmon woods. Cavity back irons are more
forgiving for most players. Low handicappers and
professionals often prefer the extra feel of blades, but
they must be hit very precisely.

Simple Golf Tips – Spring Cleaning Those Dusty Clubs
Spring is upon us and it's time to break out those dusty
golf clubs and get them cleaned up for another golf season.
Here are a few simple golf tips to get your clubs ready for
that first trip to the links.
Unless your clubs are extremely dirty, cleaning them for the
new golf season is not difficult. All you need to do is get
a bucket of warm water with some dish washing detergent in
it. If it is too hot to put you hands in, it's too hot. You
may loosen the glue that holds the club head to the shaft if
the water is too hot. A wet rag, a dry rag and an old
toothbrush or other nylon bristle brush and you are ready to
go. It won't take long to clean 14 clubs.
Some people like to soak the club heads in the water but all
you need to do is to soak a rag in your soapy water and rub
each club down lightly. By doing one club at a time, by the
time you do all the golf clubs in your bag, the club you
started with will have had a couple minutes to soak.
Next, dip your nylon bristle brush in the soapy water and
scrub the club heads and grips. Pay particular attention to
the faces of your golf club irons, getting into the grooves.
Take your wet rag and wipe off any loose dirt that the brush
removed. Rinse your clubs with clean water. Wipe the heads,
shafts and grips with a dry rag.
You can wipe steel shafts down with a light coat of car wax
if you wish but be careful not to get wax on the grips or
face of your clubs.
This method will work with your putter, irons, fairway woods
and driver.
If you have persimmon woods, DO NOT soak them in water. You
may clean the faces with your brush and then immediately
wipe them down with a DAMP cloth and dry them thoroughly.
While your clubs are out of the bag, now is a good time to
wipe down your bag with a damp cloth and dry it with a dry
cloth. Same goes for your golf shoes.
Once all your golf clubs are thoroughly dried ,you can put
them back in your golf bag.
Now you have a nice clean set of clubs and should be ready
for your first trip of the season to the golf course.

What You Need to Know About Golf GPS Units
As there are many golf GPS units on the market today, how do
you know which one is right for you and is at the best
price? In this article we will review features found on the
majority of golf GPS units. We will discuss such topics ease
of use, the overall cost to purchase and then to use on a
yearly basis per unit as well as some of the accessories
that should accompany your GPS unit.
Many of the golf GPS units have automatic course recognition
when you power the unit on. What does this fancy term mean?
It simply means that when you pull up to the first tee box
and power up your unit; the unit will recognize the golf
course that you are getting ready to play and provide you
with the proper information.
Many of the golf GPS units are very easy to use. You simply
locate yourself from where you would like a yardage and the
GPS technology in the unit will give you the proper yardage
to the front middle and to the back of the green. Many of
the golf GPS units have a digital readout on a large display
that will fit into your pocket or easily attach to your golf
bag for easy access.
The cost of the golf GPS units will vary depending on the
features on the unit. The pricing of golf GPS units begin
around $175 and can reach as much as $500. Keep in mind that
rarely does the fun end there as many units have a yearly
usage fee to access the golf courses. This fee again varies
and some companies will give you a price break for
purchasing multiple years up front. Be sure to inquire about
if the service is not renewed, how many courses will stay on
my unit? This is important as some units will leave up to
ten golf courses on your unit and some others will wipe all
of them out of your unit.
Most of the golf GPS units come with a rechargeable lithium
battery that will hold a charge for 12 hours at a time as
well as a belt clip, USB cable, setup disc, & wall
charger. So even on the monster 36-hole golf days, your GPS
unit will be there for you through both rounds of golf. The
last thing that that you want to have happen to your GPS
unit during your round is to have your battery run out of
juice on you. That will ruin your experience at any golf
course.
In this article we have given you an overview of what you
should expect when purchasing of a golf GPS unit. We
discussed the ease of use, the overall cost to use the unit
per year and some of the accessories that should accompany
your GPS unit. A GPS unit will allow you to improve your
golf game as you will always have the correct yardage off of
the tee or into the green. In addition, you will become more
precise with your wedges as you will always have the exact
number to the front center and back of the green.
