Custom Golf Equipment
For anyone who is serious about their golf, having custom
fitted golf equipment is a must. There are so many variables
in the golf swing, things that can and do go wrong. So by
having your golf equipment custom fitted, you are removing
some of the factors which can lead to poor performance on
the golf course.
In this article I'm going to look at some of the options you
have in getting access to custom golf equipment. Many people
assume it's going to be an expensive process but I am going
to show you a way that you can get this custom equipment at
a relatively cheap price.
What You Need To Know Before Buying Custom Golf Equipment
Before looking to get equipment custom fitted, you are
obviously going to need to know what you specifications are.
To do this, your best option is to get your swing analysed
by a pro, who may also use a launch monitor.
This is going to give you the information you need to take
to your club maker so they can put together a set that is
going to be matched to your swing.
Custom Golf Equipment - OEM Manufacturers
For those of you who don't know, OEM stands for Original
Equipment Manufacturer, and in the golf world refers to the
brand name manufacturers who produce ready-made equipment -
Titleist, Callaway etc.
Because this equipment comes ready-made, there is a limit on
the customisation that can occur before your purchase. As a
general rule, features that you can may be able to select
before you purchase can include: shaft flex, shaft length
and the grip, as well as loft on your driver.
You are not going to be able to have such things as lie and
loft adjusted, until after you have purchased, and this is
then going to cost you additional money. Having the
equipment custom fitted after it has been purchased will
still see good results, but can never be as good as having
the entire club/set built with your needs in mind.
Custom Golf Equipment - Component Manufacturers
As the name suggests, a component manufacturer takes the
individual components of the golf club -the shaft, head and
grip - and puts them together themselves. This differs from
the OEM's who have theirs put together in factories.
Shaft Consistency
Without going in to too much technical detail, shafts will
perform slightly differently depending on how they are
inserted within the hosel. This can lead to inconsistencies
in performance amongst clubs of the same set.
If you've ever had an iron in a set that you always
struggled to hit, this could be the reason.
The club maker uses technologies that allow them to align
the spines of the set to ensure that the performance is
consistent across the entire set. This is one of the major
benefits of buying your equipment from a component
manufacturer.
For Further Information
If you would like to learn more about this there are two
main techniques - do a Google search on spine aligning, and
PUREing and you should get plenty of information.
Again with an OEM set, you can have the shafts removed and
re-adjusted, but this is going to cost you extra money.
Lie & Loft
When the component manufacturer is putting together your
equipment they are able to create the exact lie and loft
that you specify based on discussions with the club maker
and your pro.
So what you end up with is a set that was put together by a
professional club maker (as opposed to a factory hand), with
your exact needs in mind. And the best part of all this is
that the equipment is going to cost you a fraction of what
you would pay for that big brand stuff.
So for me it is a no-brainer. Many people will argue that
the performance characteristics of the components used will
not be as good as OEM equipment.
They may be right - but talk to any pro and they will tell
you that the shaft is the most important part of the club.
You have many more shaft options with a component guy, and
they will ensure the shafts are consistently inserted.
Again you can have the stock shaft from the OEM equipment
removed, buy some upgraded shafts and have them spine
aligned, but if you are on a budget this is going to bust it
- and the extra performance you may get out of the club it
is not really commensurate with the price.
So if you are looking for custom golf equipment at an
affordable price, the component manufacturers are going to
be your best option. You will get hand crafted clubs, made
with components of high quality, and you are going to save
yourself a bundle of cash in the process. Happy days.

pinpoint custom club fitting for any skill level golfer.? Of
course, amateurs are not the only players who utilize this
innovative technology to examine their swing and customize
their club fittings.? Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Annika
Sorenstam are some of the golf professionals who have been
known to visit Callaway Performance Centers.? By allowing
players to swing all of Callaway's latest innovative club
designs, players can get a great feel and fit for golfing
equipment.? All in all, getting a customized club fitting by
Callaway professionals allows golfers to have an advantage
over those without professional club fittings.?
The Callaway Performance Centers are designed to make each
golfer feel comfortable and confident.? The experts who run
the centers are highly trained golf professionals.? They
understand the equipment, its features and its possibilities
more than anyone else.? The experts are prepared to offer
precision and customized fittings for golfers of all
levels.? They work with beginning golfers to expert
professional golfers, and everyone in between.? Each fitting
session occurs indoors in an innovative and advanced fit
bay.? The bay area uses the Callaway Performance Analysis
System (CPAS) for the session, to allow the most accurate
fitting to occur. In fact, the only thing the visitor needs
to do is bring their golf swing!
The Callaway Performance Analysis System (CPAS) has many
benefits.? Each system uses high speed cameras and sensors.?
These allow the professional and the system to analyze all
swing and club dynamics.? Recording is done accurately
before, after and at the impact.? In addition, the sensors
and cameras can pick up the ball flight and ball launch
conditions, all at the same time.
The CPAS also is used to measure many types of data during
the swing and fitting.? It can measure club head speed, ball
speed, side angle, launch angle, backspin, club head path,
side spin and angle of attack.? Because it is an automatic
system, its accuracy is unmatched.? Created by Callaway Golf
engineers, this system is prime for comparative club
analysis and evaluations.? The system allows the expert at
the Performance Center to have a visual record of everything
which occurs during the evaluation.? They can then use the
hard data captured to make ideal recommendations to a
golfer, without hesitation or bias.
Each Virtual Test Center (VTC) allows a player to see what
the shot may have looked like in several locations and
situations.? For example, a player may be able to see what
their shot would have looked like on the 9th hole of Pebble
Beach Golf Links.? The experts are able to use the
information to compare ball flight, trajectory and relative
distance for the shot you take at the virtual center.? The
system and the center's operations and procedures make it
extremely efficient to get accurate results during the
evaluation.
Most evaluations take about 45 minutes to complete, with
both irons and woods tested.? Throughout the testing, high
speed cameras capture all swing data needed.? Then the ball
flight simulator shows your results on a big monitor.? The
CPAS shows 3D images and shows how your swing is working.?
It also recommends specific Callaway clubs based on the data
it captures for your particular swing.? Because each center
has the OptiFit Fitting System, visitors can test various
golf drivers and irons.? They can switch between different
shaft and club head combos to get the best overall results.?
The visitor then leaves the session with custom
specifications so they can purchase new golf clubs with
confidence.
According to golf experts all around the world, the Callaway
Golf Performance Center is the most accurate place to get a
golf club fitting.? Their advanced technology and innovative
equipment allows for professional results and precise club
recommendations.
Because the Callaway evaluation system uses four cameras and
innovative software, they have the most thorough monitoring
system in the golf market today.? The system can accurately
show which club head and shaft combination can give the
player the most distance, most accuracy and most
consistency.? This information is purely individualized and
based on the skills of the individual golfer.
While the Callaway Performance Center was initially designed
for testing Callaway golf clubs and golf club fitting, it is
also used for another purpose.? Many golfers use this
accurate system to better understand their swing, to learn
what they're doing wrong and how to improve their game.

Golf Bag Features Available to You
A golf bag is definitely one of the most important pieces of
golf equipment that you will own other than your golf clubs.
Your golf bag allows you to carry all your other golf
equipment with you such including your clubs, tees, markers,
rain suit, umbrella or towel.
No matter whether you have a cart bag or a stand bag, the
purchase that you make can add enjoyment to your rounds or
add frustration to them. Add fun and display your school
spirit by selecting a collegiate bag. This is always good
for some discussion. Buy a stand bag in which the straps do
not properly fit you and you will understand the
frustration.
No matter what type of bag you are buying, you need to make
sure that it is comfortable. The truth is that even if you
buy a cart bag you will be carrying it at some point. Make
sure to fill it with golf clubs and properly adjust the
straps. Then throw it on your back to make sure it is
comfortable and does not rub you anywhere.
The quality of the bag you are looking at does matter.
Simply, choosing the most inexpensive bag can cost you more
in the long run. Many times these golf bags are not built
with the same durability as the next price level up.
An important factor in choosing a bag is the number of
pockets it has. The ladies will understand the next
statement and guys you will just have to believe me, there
is no such thing as too many pockets in a golf bag.
Of course, there is an apparel pocket. This is the long
pocket down the side in which you can carry your rain hood
as well as your rain gear. In the summertime in the south,
you may also want to carry an extra towel or two as the
humidity gets uncomfortable.
Other pockets would include a lined valuables pocket to keep
your watch, wallet, etc. while you play. Some golf bags
include an insulated water bottle pocket that fits many size
cans and bottles so that you can stay hydrated during your
round of golf. Then, there is the pocket used for keeping
your extra golf balls, golf tees and a divot repair tool.
Ladies the good news for you is that depending on the
manufacturer, you have many options. Most ladies golf bags
come with matching head covers, organizer tops as well as
matching purses and bags to add as accessories to your
style.
Of course if you really want to be an individual, then you
always have the added option of having a custom ladies golf
bag. Some companies will let you create your very own design
that can even include precise stones and sterling silver
buckles to decorate the bag. Your choices are simply
limitless.
As you have now learned, a golf bag has many features and
functions. The bottom line is that whether you choose to
purchase a cart bag or a stand bag, the bag must be
comfortable to you.

9 Golf Tips For Every Part of Your Game
Are you looking for golf tips for every part of your golf
game? If so, then you are in the right place. We are going
to give you 3 golf tips on how to hit better drives, 3 golf
tips on how to hit better irons and 3 golf tips on how to
hit better chip shots.
3 Golf Tips on How to Hit Better Drives
Everyone is in love with the fact of trying to get as much
distance as they can from their driver. Some players are
even obsessed to the point, it hurts their scores. A test
with tour players was done years ago on this subject. They
had them hit their drive. If it was in the fairway, fine. If
it was in the rough, they had them play that ball. In
addition, they put in play another ball that was in the
fairway but thirty yards behind their tee shot in the rough.
Believe it or not, these players scored better from the
fairway thirty yards behind the original ball in the rough!
That proves how important hitting it in the fairway is for
all of us. Here is how you can hit better drives:
1. Make sure your ball position is correct. Many amateurs
play their driver to far forward in their stance in an
attempt to help the ball in the air.
2. Use a full swing but only swing 80%. This means if a full
swing is normally 100mph then you are looking to stay in
balance and swing at 80mph.
3. Make sure that you have the correct shaft in your driver.
Many players have pre-conceived ideas that they need to hit
a certain flex shaft. I would make my decision more strictly
based on the ball flight.
3 Golf Tips on How to Hit Better Irons
Many players do not believe that they can improve their iron
play by slowing down and making sure they have the proper
club in their hand. Remember the closer that you are able to
hit your irons the shorter your putts will be and then you
will look like a better putter! Improve how you hit your
irons with these 3 tips:
1. As simple as it sounds most players do not know the
average distance that they hit each golf club. The key word
here is average. How long you hit your seven-iron one time
(downhill and downwind) simply does not matter. I would
rather brag about the low score I shot after the round than
the long seven-iron that I hit on the eighth hole!
2. Take the time while you are on the golf course to find
the yardage to the front and back of the green as well as
the distance to the hole.
3. Choose the club that allows you to make a full swing.
This takes away many variables that can go wrong during your
swing.
3 Golf Tips on How to Improve Your Chip Shots
Improving your short game and your chip shots is the
quickest way to lower your scores behind improving your
putting. Many players do not practice it as much because it
is not as glamorous as trying to bang out the long drives.
Even the best players miss greens so if you cannot chip the
ball around the green, you will not be able to ever score
very well. The short game of golf is where you really need
to practice, so check out the following 3 tips:
1. Any time that you can hit a low shit that runs the ball
up to the hole as opposed to flying it all of the way there,
do it. This gives you more room for error and
percentage-wise you will get you closer to the hole for the
next shot, unless you make the chip shot! Do not be scared
to use an eight, seven or even a five iron to get the
distance that you need.
2. Hold your finish until the ball has stopped rolling. Use
this time to monitor your balance and evaluate the shot.
3. Know without a doubt where you would like the ball to
land. If you claim to have trouble visualizing shots then
explain where you want to land it out loud. This will
accomplish the same thing.
Implement these golf tips into your game and you will see
your scores go down and you will have something to talk
about in the locker room!

3 Tips For a Better Golf Swing
In order to refine a?better golf swing, you need to start
breaking your swing down to a few key points. The better you
start to understand yourself then the easier it will be to
diagnose swing faults when they occur. Understand the game
is one of physics, the ball is propelled by energy and set
in flight by energy being transferred from the body, to the
club and then to the ball. Here a 3 tips you can use to
better your golf swing.
The take away - There are all kinds of take aways which can
cause havoc in your mechanics, if you take the club away off
plane, it is hard to get it back on plane and square at
contact.? Your take away must dissect your back shoulder.
Watch any PGA pro and you will see how to better golf swing.
The take away must go back on an inside path and go right
behind your back shoulder. With your back elbow tucked
closely at your side.
The down swing - You must start your down swing with a
proper hip rotation. Too many times we try to begin swing
down with your hands. The hips are the engine and power for
your swing. Start the hips first and then allow the arms and
hands to stay connected to the body. When I?refer to the
word connected, I?want you to keep your back elbow tucked
close to your side and let the arms and hand be a unit. You
do not hit the ball with your hands, but with the entire
body.
Square to contact - You have probably hit a few slices in
your life and even a few snap hooks. Every wayward shot is
proof you are not squaring the club face at contact. When
you slice the ball, your are swinging on a outside to in
swing path and coming across the ball, and the hook is just
the opposite. In order to square the club face you need to
keep your swing on plane long enough to keep the club face
square at contact.
Hopefully, these tips can help you shoot lower scores and
better your golf swing. Practicing a swing which does not
square the club at contact will only help hit more wayward
shots and build up muscle memory which will continue the
onslaught of more wayward shots. You must refine your swing
in order to better golf swing.
You want to shoot lower scores and take some money out of
your buddies pockets, then you should get some help and I
mean help from someone who actually shoots low scores and
not just hangs out on a driving range giving lessons instead
of golfing. Go to Better Golf Swing today and find out which
can help you lower your handicap.
